Who are the Roll Chasers coaches/instructors? 

Our guest coaches for the event will be jiu-jitsu champions Tarik Hopstock and _______________. All are world-class athletes and coaches who have vast international experience, amazing high level jiu-jitsu knowledge and great role models on and off the mats.

Is the event open to all levels, affiliations and teams? 

Yes. All Roll Chasers jiu-jitsu events are open to any belt level, academy and affiliations.

What is the difference between the Roll Chasers City Edition and Camp Edition?

City Edition is a shorter event and is usually two days at cool city destinations around the world that are very accessible.Camp Edition is a longer event and has a duration of 3-5 days at beautiful island and beach destinations. City Edition has options of day passes to choose from. Both events have world-class athletes and coaches handling the classes with specific focus on various jiu-jitsu games/topics and concepts.

I’m a beginner in jiu-jitsu, can I still join? 

Yes. Any belt level rank is welcome. 

Are flights/ground transportation included? 

Airfare and ground transportation are not included. You will need to arrange your own flights and ground transportation to the event venue.

What is included in the Roll Chasers City Edition Toronto event (two full day pass) ? 

  • Two days of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training with a total of six mat sessions

  • Workshops are gi and no gi plus open mat sessions handled by world-class athletes and coaches

  • Classes with specific focus on various jiu-jitsu games; top game vs guard players and vice-versa

  • Jiu-Jitsu lessons, concepts and topics vary daily

How does the booking reservation process work?

Roll Chasers does have a first come, first serve policy. Once payment is confirmed, we will send a final confirmation receipt by email within 5-7 business days. Our events team will contact you, if we will need more information. A Roll Chasers event manual, health protocols and waiver form will also be sent a month before the scheduled event date. Please reserve your spot early.

Can I do installment payments for this event?

No. This event is a first come first serve policy. We have limited slots available.

How do I get there? 

The event location will be at Toronto, Ontario, Canada. You can use the subway and local ground transportation to reach the venue. The city also has Uber and Lyft services. There are great selections of cafes, restaurants and snack places nearby via walking distance from the event venue.

I’m flying in from a different city/country, which airport should I fly in to? 

There are two main airports that you can fly in to: Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Billy Bishop Toronto City (YTZ). Please make separate arrangements for your accommodations and airport transfers.

What time does the registration check-in and tentative class start ?

Day One - Saturday

AM SESSION: Registration check-in opens at 9:00AM. Morning class at 9:30AM. Open mat at 11:30AM.

PM SESSION: Registration check-in opens at 3:30PM. Afternoon class at 4:00PM. Open mat at 6:00PM.

Day Two - Sunday

AM SESSION: Registration check-in opens at 9:00AM. Morning class at 9:30AM. Open mat at 11:30AM.

PM SESSION: Registration check-in opens at 3:30PM. Afternoon class at 4:00PM. Open mat at 6:00PM.

What is the deadline for signing up? 

As long as there are spots left at the website, you can join our Roll Chasers event. 

I can’t come for the whole two days. Can I still go and participate?

Yes. Roll Chasers will have limited day passes available to be purchased online. Please purchase early. These day passes will be sold out fast.

Can I choose to mix and match classes in separate days?

Yes. You can also purchase full day passes. Each day has both world champions teaching the classes.

What is the refund/cancellation policy? 

Cancellation 90 days or more prior to the start date will get you a 50% refund. Refunds will be processed within 30 days. No refund will be issued if cancelled 89 days or less prior to the Roll Chasers event start date. Day passes are transferable though. You may transfer your spot to another person at no additional cost. In case you have to cancel your participation, you have the option to sell your ticket. This can be sold to a friend or maybe someone on our waiting list. You can contact us with regards to this. 

What language will the coaching and instruction be in? 

All jiu-jitsu sessions will be in English.

Will the jiu-jitsu classes be Gi and No-Gi? 

This event is gi and no gi depending on the workshop on specific time slot.

What are training schedule like? 

We plan on running sessions in the morning and afternoon but the time schedule may vary due to weather conditions or event updates.

How many hours of BJJ training are there per day?

Class will be 2 hours long and 1 hour of open mat session. We offer a total of six mat sessions throughout the event. Two classes plus one open mat session on day one and day two has one classs and one open mat session.

Will I be allowed to film during the camp? 

The coaches/instructors will advise their sessions.

Can I bring my child or significant other to the classes? 

The classes are exclusive for jiu-jitsu practitioners attending the event. 

Is there an age limit for participation? 

There is no age limit participation for the camp. Participants who are under 18 years old must sign a waiver and be accompanied by a legal guardian. Also if under 18 years old, we recommend to invite and register a team mate or training partner for the event.

Where do the participants come from? 

All over the world who share the same passion as you from different teams, academies and affiliations. Our aim is also to connect the local jiu-jitsu community.

Will I receive a ticket in the mail? 

A confirmation email instead will be sent to you when payment is confirmed. This will serve as your final booking reservation.

What should I bring if I am flying from abroad?

  • Jiu-jitsu gear, belt, gis (we advise bringing 2-3 gis and no gi training wear)

  • Copy of your travel insurance

  • Sandals or slippers

  • Sports or stainless water bottle

  • Good vibes

Do I need a visa? 

You will need to check with your local Candian Embassy for details. You will need to have a valid passport and a Canadian visa if needed. You will not be permitted to enter Canada if your passport is going to expire within six months of your departure or if you are from a country that requires a special visa to enter. Most travellers coming from USA, Australia, Asia and Europe are issued tourist visas upon arrival, but if you carry a passport from other countries it is wise to check if you will need a visa at https://www.canada.ca/en/services/immigration-citizenship.html.

Do I need to take any health precaution? Do you have any Covid health protocols?

If you take a prescription medication make sure you bring the necessary paperwork that goes with it in case of an emergency. For more information please consult your doctor. We cannot be held liable for changes to travel arrangements or delays brought about by external influences or transport providers.

With regards to keeping everyone safe, we will have Covid health protocols in place for the event. More information about this to be sent to all participants prior to the event.

What’s the local currency? 

The local currency is Canadian dollars. You shouldn’t have any issues using a credit card in the city but having a little bit of cash on hand can be good. There are ATMs all around the city.

How to transfer event day passes? 

For information about ticket transfer and waiting list, contact us via email. If you chose to sell your ticket to someone else, please give us a notice about this as soon as possible, so we can update our records. 

In case you have to cancel your participation, you have the option to sell your ticket. This can be a friend or maybe someone on our waiting list.

All event tickets are non-refundable 89 days or less prior to the event start date. This is necessary to avoid the risk of people canceling shortly before the event, where it will be too difficult/much work for us to re-sell the ticket and we might have paid upfront reservation fee for food, professional fees, flights for instructors accommodation, transportation etc.
